儚いはかない
hakanai儚い (はかない, hakanai) — fleeting — is an い-adjective: はかなかった (past), はかなくない (negative), はかなくて (te-form), はかないです (polite).
It is usually written in kana: はかない rather than 儚い. It also means transient; short-lived.
How はかない conjugates · い-adjective
Drop the final い, then add the ending.
Every form is built on the stem はかな. The one that isn't: the polite present, which is the whole word plus です.

Every い-adjective works this way. The one exception is いい, which conjugates from its older form よい.
